Step by Step - Double Dip Flowers Print
Written by Kat Sinclair

A simple (but pretty) flower face using the double-dipping technique.

Materials used

Paints-

All paints used are Paradise by Mehron except where otherwise stated.

Brushes-

Grimas MR6 for flowers
N6 DaVinci sable brush for leaves
Grimas S2 for other details

Step by Step

 Step 1

Load the Grimas MR6 with the first colour - I have chosen to use the darker colour first but you may prefer to have white first. Scrape the tip of the brush  against the edge of the pot to remove the paint.

Dipping and scraping

 Step 2

Dip the end of the brush into some liquid paint - I have taken some white paint out of a larger pot and added water and mixed it with a brush to liquidise it, so that my larger paint doesn't get it's colour changed.

  Dipping in white

 Step 3

Holding the brush at a 90 degree angle to the skin, lay the bristles down flat to form the shape of a petal. Repeat this until you have a flower.

Step 4

Feel free to add as many flowers and details as you like. Here I have made some flowers in different colours and added some simple leaves, then added some streaks of silver in the centre of each petal and some yellow spots with the S2 brush for pollen. Finally I sprinkled some glitter on top - this is not easily seen in photos.

The finished face - first I sponged a bit of pink and purple round the eyes and on the cheeks, then went crazy adding flowers all over the face! The smaller flowers are added with the S2 brush and a bit of Snazaroo Sparkle Red makes a very pretty lipstick!
